Urban Forestry Commission Current Board Membership - Agendas - Minutes - City Ordinance Middletown's Urban Forestry Commission is a planning agency with some regulatory responsibility over city trees. The primary purpose of the Urban Forestry Commission is to amend and enforce the Middletown Tree Ordinance, the Arboricultural Specifications Manual and the Urban Forest Management Plan. The Commission establishes policy concerning selection, planting, maintenance and removal of trees and shrubs and monitors the management of the forested area of the City. The Commission also allocates the funds and expenditures for the Urban Forestry Program and oversees the duties of the City Forester. The members of the Urban Forestry Commission are appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the Common Council. The Urban Forestry Commission meets the fourth Thursday of the month in the Municipal Building. The agenda is available the Friday prior to each meeting. Arbor Day Celebration- April 29, 2005
