Middletown's Harbor Improvements Agency's primary purpose of the is to initiate and implement development and beautification of the City's waterfront. The Harbor Improvement Agency works with the appropriate City agencies on plans, specifications and estimates that include, but are not necessarily limited to, marinas, crew clubs, docking and boat launching facilities and the establishment of new parks and recreation areas along the river front. The Agency also applies for Federal and State grants intended for river improvement. The Agency is currently involved in the creation of a Harbor Management Plan.
The members of Harbor Improvement Agency are appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the Common Council.
The Harbor Improvement Agency meets the 4th Monday of the month in the Municipal Building. The agenda is available the Friday prior to each meeting.
